First I put fresh spinach in it and the spinach exploded into green juice which ran into the large cup that comes with the machine, in the blink of an eye. I researched buying a juicer for a week. I took the display models apart to see what would be involved in cleaning the machines. it has a 1 year guarantee.
This machine is worth every penny , the motor is over 2X the power of the JLL machine, and it is easy to clean. And besides that. After I made the juice I took it apart in about a minute, rinsed it off and put the parts that need cleaning in the dishwasher. The internal filter is stainless steel which is only on the $150 Jack LaLanne machine, and it comes with a brush for cleaning the filter.
This narrowed it down to 2 different Breville machines, and one was on sale for around $86, so that was the one I bought. No pushing of the food was required, it just went into the cutter with almost no pressure at all, and sometimes the weight of the pusher was enough to juice the food. It ended in a trip to two stores today where I got a chance to look at 3 different machines very carefully. Then broccoli, whole carrots, a whole apple, some grapes, and a tomato.
This juicer works great. That ruled out the Jack LaLanne model, since a tool was needed to loosen and tighten the blade each time you cleaned it, which made it a hassle. I brought it home, cleaned it and made some juice.
I'm delighted with it and recommend it. I ordered the Breville BJE200XL JUICE Fountain Compact Chrome Extractor and it really works well. It is easy to clean as well.
Easy to use, easy to clean. The Breville Juice Fountain was recommended to me. Good price,too. My family and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. The recommendation proved to be a good one. The Breville juicer is easy and efficient.
This is the perfect juicer for people who plan to do a lot of daily juicing, and want it to be fast and efficient. I paid less than $100 in the summer of 2008. This juicer has a special place in my heart. As of writing this review, it appears the juicer has gone up in price since I bought it. Kristen Suzanne of Kristen's RawAuthor of Raw Lifestyle & Recipe books I LOVE my Breville Fountain Juicer (and pretty much use it daily) because it's lightening fast and SUPER EASY to clean. This machine inspires me to juice multiple times a day due to its ease of use.
Second, the product description above is also completely incorrect: it is NOT 750. However, I received the item and the product title is completely incorrect; this item is NOT chrome. I have contacted JR and they are accepting my return; they now need to correct this Amazon listing. Breville does in fact manufacture two versions of this model -- a 700 watt gray plastic exterior version and a 750 watt chrome exterior version. That's why I ordered this version, which is a few dollars more expensive than another listing on Amazon for a 700 watt version.
